According to the Daily Mail, Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher has become the latest target of Shanghai Shenhua.
The Chinese side have had a history of attempting to sign players from the Premier League in recent years.
Shanghai Shenhua signed Didier Drogba from Chelsea back in 2012, and they are now apparently keen to return to the English market to snap up Fletcher.
The 28-year-old forward has been made available for transfer by the Black Cats, who have had reservations over using him this season.
Fletcher has scored eight times in 22 appearances for club and country this term, but he is set to slip down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland are about to sign Dame N’Doye from Trabzonspor, leaving Fletcher’s chances of playing regularly this season looking slim.
If Fletcher does move to Shanghai he could be joined by Cheick Tiote, as the Chinese Premier League team are also interested in the Newcastle United midfielder - according to the Daily Mail.
