Report: Stoke City keeping tabs on Juventus midfielder Marcel Buchel

The Liechtenstein international is currently on loan at Empoli.

Stoke City have been fairly quiet in the Transfer Window so far. The club have not brought anyone in just yet and nobody has left the club either as they asses their options for the rest of the season.

Now they are being linked with a move for a Juventus midfielder in a report from the Daily Mail.

The club are apparently keeping tabs on Marcel Buchel. The Austrian born midfielder has been with Juventus since 2013 and was also on loan at the club from Siena in the 2010-11 season.

He has played just twice for Juventus, both times in the Europa League way back in 2010 against Red Bull Salzburg and an 11 minute cameo v a Manchester City side containing the likes of Adam Johnson, Patrick Vieira and Jo.

The 24-year-old, who represents Liechtenstein in international football, has spent time on loan at Virtus Lanciano, Bologna and Empoli - where he currently plies his trade - since joining the Italian giants.

He has impressed this season in Serie A, scoring twice in 15 appearances for his loan side and that has seemingly caught the attention of Mark Hughes and Stoke - who are looking to add some steel to their midfield positions this month.
