According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are looking for an £8 million fee for Dwight Gayle.
Palace are reportedly willing to sanction a deal for Gayle in January, with Alan Pardew looking to cash in on the striker.
However, the Eagles are determined not to lose the 25-year-old on the cheap and want to make a profit on the fee they paid to take him from Peterborough United back in 2013.
Gayle cost Palace around £6 million, according to the Mail, but the club feel that his showings in the Premier League mean that they are justified to raise his price-tag now.
The former Dagenham and Redbridge man has finished the last two seasons as Palace’s top scorer, and he has largely impressed when given a chance.
Norwich have money to spend in January, and Gayle is apparently Alex Neil's number one target.
QPR had wanted to sign Gayle on loan, but Palace’s refusal to let him go on a temporary basis is likely to rule them out of the race for the striker’s signature.
