Forest came from behind to draw 1-1 with Birmingham City on Tuesday evening.
Jon Toral opened the scoring for Blues, but Matt Mills equalised six minutes later. Dougie Freedman’s men had to see out the game with 10 men, after David Vaughan was dismissed on 74 minutes.
The game was a memorable one of one Forest player, as it was the first start for Slovenian left-back Bojan Jokic.
Jokic linked up with the Midlands club on a loan deal from Villarreal of La Liga last week, agreeing a switch until the end of the season.
His debut came as a substitute at the weekend, playing 11 minutes of the FA Cup victory over QPR, and this game with Birmingham offered fans the first chance of seeing Jokic in action for a full game.
He started at left-back, and impressed with a display of defensive solidity. He won one tackle and one aerial duel, as well as completing one dribble.
He looked slightly off the pace of the game, which is to be expected given his lack of football this season, and Jokic is sure to only improve with more game time to his name.
Regardless, his debut start showed signs of promise, and fans reacted to his performance in positive terms on Twitter.
Bojan Jokic looked solid tonight. Very natural left-back, almost as if he ACTUALLY CHOSE to play that position as a kid. THAT natural. #nffc— Garibaldi Gallant (@TheGaribaldiG) January 12, 2016
#nffc positives: Jokic looked good, the save from de Vries top class, Mancienne is am excellent centre half, Villa only need another point!— Mark (@rippey89) January 12, 2016
@nottmtails What did you make of Jokic Paul? Thought he defended well, very composed, didn't give the ball away. Looks an excellent addition— Justin O'Hanlon (@rpdarkhorse) January 12, 2016
Would have said Mancienne for MOM too but can't really fault any player. Jokic looks very good #NFFC— Elton Bongodrums (@SeanFulcher) January 12, 2016
