Manchester United fans react on Twitter to Marouane Fellaini’s performance v Newcastle

Manchester United could only manage a 3-3 draw with Newcastle on Tuesday.

The Magpies fought back to secure a 3-3 draw with Manchester United on Tuesday evening, and the Red Devils will rue even more dropped points.

Louis van Gaal’s men led 2-0, and then 3-2, but could not hold on to the lead with some disastrous defending.

One player took much of the blame for the result, showing little as a defensive or attacking presence.

Marouane Fellaini was deployed as a holding midfielder in the tie, and his biggest contributions were errors. He missed a glorious chance to take the score to 4-2 - and likely beyond Newcastle - and was often out of position as a defensive player.

It was another game in Fellaini’s poor season, and his lack of technical or tactical understanding begs the question as to why Van Gaal continues to select the towering Belgian - especially as a holding player.

Following the game, United fans took to Twitter to express their continual disappointment with Fellaini, after another below-par performance.
