Tottenham Hotspur have snapped up the young midfielder.
Tottenham Hotspur have finally completed the permanent signing of Ebbsfleet United midfielder Shilow Tracey for an undisclosed fee.
The news was announced on Ebbsfleet’s official website and comes after weeks of speculation regarding the 17-year-old.
The non-league club’s vice-chairman Peter Varney said, “I would like to thank Spurs for the professional manner in which they have handled the transfer negotiations.”
Tracey becomes Tottenham’s first signing of the January transfer window and manager Mauricio Pochettino will no doubt be hoping to add more players in the weeks ahead.
The transfer has echoes of the move for Dele Alli from MK Dons almost exactly a year ago and we all know how that one turned out.
Tracey is a goal-scoring midfielder who previously impressed while on trial at Tottenham and it seems in the short term at least he will join up with the North London club’s under-18s and under-21s.
Tottenham are currently fourth in the Premier League table and tonight’s match against second-placed Leicester City will give them the chance to move within a single point of the Foxes.
