Derby County supporters were largely pleased with Nick Blackman’s performance in their side’s 1-1 draw against Reading last night.
Derby failed to ever get going against the Royals, and they were fortunate to escape with a point.
Rams boss Clement admitted that his side’s display had been well short of the standard required, but Blackman was one of the positives.
Although the new recruit did not get on the scoresheet, he posed Reading a threat throughout the contest.
Blackman joined Derby from Reading last week, and he used his knowledge of Brian O’Driscoll’s side to good effect.
The 26-year-old was a threat throughout the contest down the right wing and Derby supporters have called for him to be used in a central striking role from now on.
Chris Martin has not scored particularly freely this season, and a significant amount of Rams fans now want the Scotland international to be dropped, with Blackman taking his position.
Here is the best reaction from Derby fans to Blackman’s performance against Reading.
Reading fans did say that Blackman is far better as a striker. Was impressed with his pace. #dcfc— Andy Buckley-Taylor (@BuckTaylor64) January 13, 2016
