When asked if Diagouraga will be joining Rangers, Smith said: “I’ve no idea. Our players have a valuation, and teams have to meet them. If they’re not met, then they don’t go.”
Rangers have already submitted bids for Diagouraga, with the Record claiming three offers for the 28-year-old have been swiftly rejected by the Bees.
Diagouraga is said to want the move to link up with his former manager Mark Warburton, who is now in charge at Ibrox, but talks are yet to progress in a positive manner between the two negotiating clubs.
Brentford have a price on his head, and Smith has confirmed that this fee has not yet been offered, and this is preventing any deal taking place as of yet.
Smith certainly does not sound averse to selling the French midfielder, but a transfer will only take place when the asking price on Diagouraga’s head is met by the Gers.
There have been no indications today that any new offers have been submitted by Rangers for the transfer of his services to Ibrox.
