Manchester United could only draw 3-3 with Newcastle United on Tuesday evening.
Newcastle fought back from 2-0 and 3-2 down to secure a 3-3 draw with Manchester United on Tuesday evening.
The game was as entertaining as any this season, with extremely poor defending from both sides making for a very attacking game.
Wayne Rooney and Jesse Lingard netted for the Red Devils, before the Magpies brought it back to 2-2 through Georginio Wijnaldum and an Aleksandar Mitrovic penalty.
United went ahead again with 11 minutes remaining, but Paul Dummett’s powerful strike secured a point for Newcastle heading into injury time.
The result is not a particularly good one for either side. It does not bring the Tyneside club further away from the relegation paces, whilst it meant United dropped further away from the top four places.
Despite the entertainment, it was a poor day for United, although it will be memorable for one player.
David De Gea was making his 200th appearance for the Red Devils, and he reacted on Twitter after the game to his achievement.
Morgan Schneiderlin also reacted to the draw on his Twitter account, admitting disappointment at United’s failure to hold on for all three points.
