When asked about Rogic’s future, agent Daniel Berman said: “It is correct that we have been in negotiations to extend Tom’s current deal, and hope to agree something in the near future. Tom is very proud to wear the Celtic shirt, and understands what it means to represent the club. Having played regularly this season, he is becoming increasingly influential, and is fully committed to helping the team achieve its goals domestically and in Europe.”
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported earlier this week that Rogic was wanted by Leeds United, but it sounds as if a move is very far away.
His agent has made it clear that signing a new contract with Celtic is the priority, with the Australian international, 23, finally establishing himself as a key part of Ronny Deila’s side.
Rogue’s current deal at Parkhead does not expire for another 18 months, with his contract ending in the summer of 2017.
However, after a season which has brought six goals and four assists in 27 games, a new deal is on the horizon, and any transfer away from the Bhoys looks extremely unlikely.
Deila has been showing more faith in the young midfielder, who was ravaged by injury during his early stay at Parkhead, and he is growing in the Celtic team to become a key player.
