Bournemouth fans got their first chance to look at how Benik Afobe will get on in their side last night as he made his debut in the 3-1 defeat to West Ham United in the Premier League.
Afobe signed from Wolves for around £10 million earlier on in the week and was handed an instant chance to impress by Eddie Howe as he started against the Hammers.
However, he would have wished for his debut to have gone slightly better. Harry Arter gave the home side the lead with a long-range effort in the early stages of the first half, but it should have been a bigger lead for the Cherries as Afobe missed a couple of glorious opportunities to double the lead going into the break.
If he had buried those opportunities, it could have been a very different second half. Instead West Ham hit back thanks to a wonderfully taken Dimitri Payet free-kick, and two goals from Enner Valencia - the second of which was a stunning free-kick of his own.
Some supporters are evidently frustrated that Afobe didn't find the net last night but some are willing to cut him some slack given it was his first game - that's if the reaction on Twitter is anything to go by.
