Leeds United are said to be willing to pay around £1 million for Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic.

Leeds United manager Steve Evans has remained coy over whether Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic is a transfer target on BBC Radio Leeds.

According to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, the Australia international has become one of his top targets in January.

However, when asked whether Rogic was on his wishlist yesterday, Evans was giving little away.

“It wouldn`t be appropriate for me to start speculating or talking about players we are being linked with on a daily basis," Evans said.

"We are trying to do business both north and south of the border.

"Wherever the interest takes us we will try to get something done.”

Leeds reportedly feel that Rogic would enhance their midfield ranks considerably, and he has room to improve at the of 23.

The Whites want to play him in a role behind the striker, and are said to be prepared to spend up to £1 million on the former Central Coast Mariners man.

Celtic will be keen to keep hold of Rogic, as he has been an important player for them this season, but Leeds are set to test their resolve.

If Rogic does complete a move to Leeds, he will become their third signing of the January transfer window, after Liam Bridcutt and Mustapha Carayol both joined on loan deals.
