Speculation about Manchester United's summer activity.

Super agent Jorge Mendes has big plans for Manchester United this summer involving two of his clients, report GianlucadiMarzio.com.

It is reported that Mendes aims to get Jose Mourinho appointed as Louis van Gaal's replacement, and that he wants his first signing to be Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes, formerly of Benfica.

The report reads, in a piece addressing Juventus' attempts to sign Gomes: "The player's agent Jorge Mendes has a big project in mind: bring his client to Manchester United along with Mourinho next summer."

The Red Devils' plans regarding Louis van Gaal are unclear, but the Dutchman is losing the faith of fans, and has a contract at United which expires in 2017.

Mourinho is out of work since his sacking by Chelsea in December, and the Red Devils could be waiting to see if Pep Guardiola will join them, before moving onto the Portuguese.

Gomes is an outstanding prospect at United, and only 22-years-old. He is an ideal long-term replacement for Michael Carrick, although will add to a very congested midfield area, potentially spelling the end for Marouane Fellaini at the club.
