Preston North End midfielder Daniel Johnson is a target for several Premier League and Championship sides during this month's transfer window.
Johnson is widely regarded as one of the most exciting youngsters outside the Premier League after catching the eye for Preston in the last 12 months.
The former Crystal Palace trainee came through the ranks at Aston Villa and was highly-regarded within the corridors of power at Villa Park.
However, Johnson did not make a senior appearance for Villa and spent time out on loan at Yeovil, Chesterfield and Oldham to get first-team experience.
The 23-year-old impressed on loan at Oldham and his form saw Preston move to sign him on a permanent deal last January.
Johnson was a standout performer for Preston in the second half of last season, scoring eight goals in 18 games to help the club win promotion to the Championship.
Johnson has maintained that fine form this season, netting seven goals in 25 appearances and his displays have alerted his suitors.
Preston are determined to kee the attacking midfielder, who is in the final 18 months of his deal at Deepdale, and they are bracing themselves for interest in Johnson this month.
