Millwall star Aiden O'Brien snubs interest to sign new deal

HITC Sport understands that the highly-rated Millwall star has signed a new contract.

Millwall forward Aiden O'Brien has handed the club a massive boost by signing a new deal at the Den, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

The 22-year-old has been one of the standout performers in League One this season, scoring 10 goals for Millwall so far this term.

O'Brien's performances have not gone unnoticed among clubs higher up the football pyramid with several Premier League and Championship sides keeping tabs on his progress.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international was rewarded with the League One Player of the Month award for October for his fine form.

O'Brien has come through the ranks at Millwall and he made his first-team debut in 2011 as a substitute in the League Cup against Wolves.

The versatile attacker had spells out on loan at Crawley Town, Aldershot and Torquay before establishing himself as a regular in the Millwall side.

O'Brien was in the final 18 months of his contract at Millwall and the club have now moved to fend off the growing interest in the player by moving to tie down the striker to a new deal.
