Micky Gray has transfer advice for Sunderland, comments on survival chances

Allardyce deflated

Micky Gray says that Sunderland will not get relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

Micky Gray has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Sunderland should sign a target man in the January transfer window.

The former Sunderland star believes that it is the main area that current Black Cats manager Sam Allardyce needs to prioritise.

Gray, who earned three caps for the England national team, has also backed Sunderland to retain their Premier League status for next season.

Sunderland are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment and are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

The Black Cats have managed to pick up just 15 points from 20 matches and are four points behind 17th-placed Swansea City.

Allardyce needs to reinforce his squad in the January transfer window in order to enhance his side’s chances of staving off relegation.

Sunderland, who lost 3-1 to Arsenal away from home at the Emirates Stadium in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon, will face Swansea City away from home at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday evening.
