Mick Quinn reacts on Twitter to Newcastle thriller, Shearer praises Sissoko

A 3-3 draw with Manchester United brought hope to Newcastle fans.

Mick Quinn was delighted on Twitter after Newcastle United fought back to earn a 3-3 draw against Manchester United on Wednesday night.

Newcastle trailed 2-0 at one stage but the players reflected the support of the thousands at St James' Park, according ot Quinn.

And, for once, the former Newcastle man feels the players showed a lot of spirit and heart.

Meanwhile, Newcastle legend Alan Shearer praised Moussa Sissoko for his role in the Magpies' equaliser.

Sissoko has often lacked desire in a Newcastle shirt but, much like the rest of his team-mates on Tuesday night, he was 100 per cent committed to the cause against Manchester United.

Shearer told BBC Football: "What a match we have had here. Great play from Moussa Sissoko and Newcastle on the right. They kept the pressure on Manchester United and wouldn't let them clear."

Can Newcastle now turn their comeback into momentum - and a winning run?

For all the drama, the Magpies still only took a point at home. But a 3-3 thriller against Manchester United, plus an active January transfer window so far, could give the players all the confidence they need.

Next up for Newcastle is a Premier League clash against West Ham United on Saturday afternoon. Another classic?
