Mark Lawrenson predicts Tottenham v Leicester City

BBC pundit expects Tottenham to pull off a win.

Can Tottenham Hotspur return to winning ways in front of their home fans on Wednesday night?

Spurs face their weekend FA Cup opponents Leicester City, who almost pulled off a victory, instead holding the home side to a 1-1 draw and forcing a replay.

Tottenham have a chance to move to within one point of the Premier League surprise package with a win, and will want to avoid being frustrated once again.

BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson believes they will have little trouble, forecasting a 2-0 victory for Mauricio Pochettino's team.

He explains in his weekly BBC prediction column: "The Foxes were missing quite a few regular starters but they carried a real threat and were quite unlucky not to win the game.

"I just think this game will be completely different, though, especially because I cannot see striker Jamie Vardy returning from injury yet.

"Tottenham will be much improved with their strongest line-up, and should take the points."

Both sides rotated their players at the weekend, perhaps not wanting to give too much away for this key encounter. Leicester are attempting to keep pace with leaders Arsenal at the top, and are looking for their first win of 2016.

Yet Claudio Ranieri's team have been pulling off surprise all season, and it is hard to write them off completely here, as good as Tottenham have been - even though Lawrenson evidently has.
