Liverpool have been dealt another injury blow with the news Divock Origi has been ruled out for a further month.
Origi has not played since December and had been hoping to return swiftly, but these hopes have been dashed with The Mirror reporting he has undergone knee surgery.
The Belgian had just started to get his Liverpool career going, having been loaned back to Lille last season and then struggling early on under Brendan Rodgers.
He netted an impressive hat-trick against Southampton in the Capital One Cup, which lifted his confidence, only to become the latest Liverpool player to get injured.
Up front the Reds are increasingly reliant on Christian Benteke, with Danny Ings out for the season and Daniel Sturridge's return date unknown.
The problem there is Benteke has struggled lately, and failed to net against Exeter City in the FA Cup on Friday night, but has a chance to redeem himself this week at home to league leaders Arsenal.
Here is a look at how Liverpool fans reacted to the Origi news...
Origi out for a month & Daniel "madeofglass" Sturridge again injured only hope is Benteke. Officially hav written off this season. #LFC— Nayan Mohapatra (@nayanmoha) January 11, 2016
Stick or twist for klopp, Ings out long-term, Sturridge never fit and now Origi knee problem...Leaves Benteke or does he recall Mario? #LFC— Dan Reeves (@Reevsie247) January 11, 2016
Very disappointing to see Origi ruled out for a month. He looked bright and dangerous vs Leicester before the injury. #LFC— RedReaction (@Red_Reaction) January 11, 2016
