Liam Bridcutt was a class apart in Leeds United's midfield as they took on Ipswich Town.
The Whites slipped to a 2-1 loss thanks to an injury time goal from Brett Pitman, which ended their eight game unbeaten run in all competitions.
Central midfielder Bridcutt extended his loan deal from Premier League strugglers Sunderland last week, and he was the only one of a midfield trio comprising of youngsters Lewis Cook and Alex Mowatt to play all 90 minutes.
With 65 touches, he enjoyed more possession than any outfield Leeds player, with defender Liam Cooper closest on 49. His three tackles was a figure matched only by fellow loanee Mustapha Carayol, and he also made two interceptions.
The 26-year-old provides vital experience to Leeds' midfield, and this will be important in their derby game against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday as they look to bounce back.
He has proved so far to be a very worthwhile addition to the Leeds squad, and the club will be determined to hang onto him in the summer.
Here is a look at how fans reacted to his performance...
Going to be a tough half this. I would still take a point tbh. Boy I'm glad Bridcutt is a Leeds player at times like this. #lufc— Charlie Sopp (@soppy13mot) January 12, 2016
Sign Bridcutt, keep Cook & Byram on *longer* deals, don't sign Lafferty & get an actual defence. BUILD.— Keir (@_KeirTaylor) January 12, 2016
