John Barnes and Andy Gray predict Newcastle v Manchester United

Newcastle United will face Manchester United in the Premier League this evening.

John Barnes has predicted on that this evening’s game between Newcastle United and Manchester United will end in a 1-1 draw.

Newcastle will take on United at St. James’ Park in the Premier League in a few hours’ time.

“This will be a difficult one for Manchester United up at Newcastle,” former Newcastle winger Barnes has written on

“They didn’t player particularly well against Sheffield United in the FA Cup, albeit they got the result, and St James’ Park is a tough place to go for any away side.

“Of course Newcastle are struggling and are low on confidence, but I can see a draw. Goalscorers – Moussa Sissoko and Wayne Rooney.”

Former Aston Villa and Everton striker Andy Gray has backed Newcastle to pick up all three points against the Red Devils this evening.

“I know I should be sating Manchester United but that’s largely because of their name but it’s hard to back them with much conviction the way they’re playing right now, the players are really flat,” Gray has written on “I can see Newcastle winning this game and I’m going for them to do it 1-0.”

Newcastle are in terrible form at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

The Magpies are currently third from bottom in the Premier League table with 17 points from 20 matches, just two points behind 17th-placed Swansea City.

United have better players, but their football in recent weeks has been dull and uninspiring. Louis van Gaal’s side, though, are still capable of eking out results, and that is what they will have to do at St. James’ Park this evening.

The home fans will be cheering on the Newcastle players, who will be under pressure to deliver the goods.

The first goal in the game will be key. If United get it, then they will likely go on to win the encounter.
