The ex-player has had his say on Newcastle United's potential winter business.
Former football Don Hutchison has taken to Twitter to have his say on Newcastle United’s potential January transfer window recruits.
That leaves Steve McClaren’s side with 18 games to ensure they are still a top flight club next season and they are wasting little time strengthening their squad in the January transfer window.
That would certainly be a step in the right direction but Hutchison believes there is still plenty more work to be done before Newcastle can guarantee Premier League survival.
Writing on his official Twitter account on Tuesday, he suggested that Newcastle should also add Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin, Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend and Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes to their ranks.
“Shelvey, Townsend and Austin I reckon would get Newcastle safe,” Hutchison said. “Oh and Valdez on loan.”
McClaren will no doubt have more targets in mind and all the players named by Hutchison are certainly achievable targets but only time will tell what this month brings for the club.
