Ballon d'Or: Leeds United striker Chris Wood's top three votes

Chris Wood of Leicester City

Leeds United striker Chris Wood voted for another striker as his first choice.

New Zealand international Chris Wood was the only Leeds United player to get a vote in the 2015 Ballon d'Or, but did not use it on any of the top three.

As captain of his country, Wood was one of the voters for the award which Lionel Messi won for a record fifth time, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.

He did not award his three votes to any of them, instead opting for an out and out centre forward to whose level he can only aspire to.

Wood voted for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski in first place, followed by Juventus central midfielder Paul Pogba.

The Polish striker has scored a superb 23 goals in 21 games for his club so far in 2015/16.

His third choice was the only of the trio to play in England, Manchester City winger Kevin de Bruyne, formerly of Chelsea.
