The Leeds United boss is hopeful of adding more players to his squad.
The Whites are currently eight matches unbeaten and most recently overcame Rotherham United 2-0 in the third round of the FA Cup, and while Leeds now have a squad fit to challenge for promotion this season Evans is expected to add a few more players this month.
Leeds have already extended Liam Bridcutt’s loan deal and temporarily signed Mustapha Carayol from Middlesbrough since the January transfer window opened, but he is not resting there.
Evans even suggested that he could have a new signing in place before Tuesday’s match with Ipswich, although he admitted he was cutting it fine in that regard.
“I think we’re running out of time before Ipswich but you never say never,” Evans told BBC Radio Leeds. “I’ve again spoken to Mr Cellino in the last few minutes and he’s working on one or two things that we were both working on last night.
“So if we can get the opportunity to get one more player in and get him to train this afternoon then it’s an opportunity to be the group but it’s looking more like being Wednesday or Thursday.
“In the next week or two we are going to add two or three signings and hopefully they prove it on the pitch rather than anything they’ve done elsewhere.”
Leeds have some of the most exciting young players in England on their books right now and Evans has infused a real sense of camaraderie to ensure they look a completely different prospect to the side that faltered earlier in the campaign.
There is still a huge amount of work to be done if Leeds are to secure a play-off place come May, but the way things are now, that is certainly on the cards.
