Sack race betting update: Featuring Garde, McClaren, Southampton and a clear favourite

RĂ©mi Garde

The Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Southampton and Manchester United bosses form a top four no manager would want to be a part of.

Manchester United head coach Louis van Gaal remains favourite to be the next manager to leave the Premier League, according to Sky Bet.

But Aston Villa's Remi Garde, Newcastle's Steve McClaren and Southampton's Ronald Koeman are all priced lower than the option of no coach leaving for the rest of the season.

United's struggles have been well documented this season. The Old Trafford giants are not in a relegation battle, they are not losing every game 5-0. But they are failing miserably to achieve their core targets.

Manchester United are not in the top four, were knocked out of the Champions League and are putting sponsors, fans and everyone else watching to sleep with their negative style of football.

Sky Bet price Van Gaal at 1/2 for the sack, while Aston Villa head coach Garde is 11/4.

Garde has assured reporters he is 'going nowhere,' according to Sky Sports, but the club's woeful form, as well as talk of crisis meetings, have left punters tipping the Frenchman to go.

Newcastle are still struggling under McClaren, meanwhile, and his odds are 11/1 for dismissal. The Magpies boss's chances of staying in a job - and Newcastle staying in the Premier League - will be heavily influenced by their transfer window.

Struggling Southampton are in a far better situation than the St James' Park outfit or Aston Villa but are equally finding results hard to come by. As such, Koeman completes an unwanted top four with odds of 12/1.
