Report: Sporting Lisbon tell Celtic to pay £1m if they want Carlos Mane loan deal

Celtic Stands

The Scottish Premiership leaders are reportedly keen on bringing the 21-year-old to Parkhead.

Sporting Lisbon have reportedly decided that any side wanting to sign reported Celtic target Carlos Mane will have to pay £1m just to take the youngster on loan, The Scottish Sun reports.

The Scottish Premiership champions are eyeing up a January move for the 21-year-old, but with Ligue 1 pair Monaco and Marseille, as well as Premier League side Bournemouth also interested in a loan deal with an option to buy, Sporting have decided to set the high asking price (via The Scottish Sun).

Mane has been on the periphery of Sporting side's this season, playing just five games in the league, with his appearance against Academica in August being his only start. He did manage to justify his selection however, scoring the opener in the 3-1 win.

And Ronny Deila is seemingly hoping that he can have a similar impact at Parkhead, should the club prove successful in their bid to take him on loan. The Bhoys are in a commanding position at the top of the table - three points clear of Aberdeen, with a game in hand - but Deila would have been hoping that Mane's arrival could help them secure their 47th league title.

However, it remains to be seen whether Sporting's asking price proves too much of a stumbling block for a deal to take place.
