Report: Everton and Liverpool join Saido Berahino chase

There is widespread interest in the West Bromwich Albion star.

Everton and Liverpool have joined the hunt for West Brom forward Saido Berahino, according to the Mirror.

The young forward looks set to leave the Hawthorns in the near future, with recent weeks having seen him fall out of favour with manager Tony Pulis.

There is widespread interest in his services as well, with several Premier League clubs thought to be keen on the 22-year-old Baggies star.

Among them are Merseyside duo Everton and Liverpool, who could move for the youngster according to the Mirror.

Liverpool are increasingly losing patience with Daniel Sturridge, as the striker continues to struggle to maintain his fitness.

Elsewhere, Christian Benteke has struggled to prove his worth since moving from Aston Villa, and Berahino could be brought in as the answer to their goalscoring issues.

Everton are not in a similar situation, with Romelu Lukaku currently scoring freely for Roberto Martinez’s side, topping the Premier League goalscoring charts at the halfway stage of the season.

That form is sure to have attracted interest from across Europe though, and there is every chance the Toffees could be planning ahead in case the Belgian leaves in the summer.

A big stumbling block however, could be West Brom’s asking price, with them having held out for as much as £22m in the summer from Tottenham and sure to ask for similar in future.
