Blackburn Rovers defender Marcus Olsson is said to be of interest to Derby County.

According to a report in the Derby Telegraph, Derby County have had a bid rejected for Blackburn Rovers defender Marcus Olsson.

Paul Clement had suggested to the Derby Telegraph that the Rams’ transfer business was over following the additions of Nick Blackman from Reading and Abdoul Camara from Angers last week.

However, it seems that Derby are still working on deals - with Olsson said to be next on their wishlist.

The defender is regarded as one of the finest full backs in the Championship, and is capable both in an attacking and defensive sense.

Derby already have options at left-back, but Olsson could be available at a cut price in January.

The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning Blackburn have little bargaining power.

Derby had wanted to get him on a cut price deal, but their first offer of £250,000 has been rejected by Paul Lambert’s side.

It remains to be seen whether Derby will make a second offer for the Swedish international.
