According to a report in the Daily Mail, Aston Villa boss Remi Garde wants to make four additions in the January transfer window.
Garde is determined to strengthen his Villa side, after their disastrous start to the season.
The Villans are 11 points adrift of safety, and have not won any of their last 19 Premier League matches.
Garde has always stated that he believes Villa aren’t doomed, but the Claret and Blues seem bereft of confidence and quality.
Villa were held 1-1 by League Two side Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup at the weekend, with fans starting to clash with the players.
Tensions are high at Villa Park, but Garde is keen to bring in players to try and relieve some of the pressure.
The French boss has reportedly targeted four new players, with Arsenal’s Mathieu Debuchy said to be high up on his wishlist by the Mail.
The problem for Villa is that their current situation means that loan deals are far more likely than permanent transfers, with so many players reluctant to commit their long term future to a club which appears to be almost certain to be playing Championship football next season.
