The defender has impressed alongside young star John Stones at times this season.
The England defender has been out injured since the end of October with a knee injury, making his return in the FA Cup win over Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday.
His absence has seen summer signing Funes Mori step up alongside John Stones, arguably being exposed to more game time than he was expecting this season.
Jagielka has been watching closely though, and he says that he is impressed by what he has saw, saying the Argentine will prove to be a good signing in the long run.
"Ramiro is no mug - he is an international player who we paid a lot of money for,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“The one thing he doesn't have is experience in the Premier League, but playing more with John, playing more games, you can see he is growing and looking more composed on the ball.”
"He is a fantastic competitor and at the moment he has been a good buy. In the future I'm sure we will say he has been a fantastic buy.”
While Funes Mori has looked like a solid signing so far, Jagielka is almost a certainty to return to the side when fully fit.
The Blues have looked leaky in his absence; with them having conceded 17 goals in the Premier League games he has missed this season.
Part of that may have been down to the side missing Jagielka’s Premier League experience, with John Stones in particular having missed his presence alongside him in the centre of defence.
