We take a look at three possible Leeds United targets for clubs abroad following recent comments from Steve Evans.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio Leeds, Steve Evans admitted that there had been interest in one of his Leeds United players from the Bundesliga, and when you consider the talent at Elland Road right now that should come as no big surprise.
After all, it would be naïve to think that only English clubs pay attention to Championship teams, but who exactly could this unnamed German side be impressed enough by to make a bid?
Here we consider three Leeds players whose performances could well have been noted a little further afield:
Evans has already gone on record (in comments published by the YEP) to say there have been offers for 26-year-old centre-back Giuseppe Bellusci, and when you consider his experience he could well have tempted the hand of a club chairman in Germany.
Bellusci has been in and out of the Leeds side this season and there will be plenty of clubs abroad who could benefit from a player who has not always been seen in the best light by the Elland Road faithful.
It will surely not only be Premier League clubs keeping tabs on Sam Byram as his contract ticks down.
The 22-year-old does not look like signing a new deal and with his current contract expiring this summer he looks almost certain to move on.
The question is, will Leeds cash in this month or risk losing him for nothing at the end of the current campaign.
Left-back Charlie Taylor is arguably the cream of the crop at Leeds right now and he could slot into a whole host of top flight clubs, both here and abroad.
The 22-year-old has a contract at Leeds until the summer of 2017 but he is only going to attract more attention as he gets better and better.
