Former West Ham United striker Carlton Cole has told Celtic View that he finds his Celtic teammate Leigh Griffiths amazing.
Cole played with Griffiths during Celtic’s Scottish Cup fourth-round tie against Stranraer away from home on Sunday afternoon.
The 32-year-old former Chelsea striker scored once while Griffiths found the net twice, as the Bhoys registered a comfortable 3-0 win.
“Leigh Griffiths played brilliant as well so it’s nice to have a striker that I think I can compliment so he can just think about scoring goals,” Cole told Celtic View.
“He’s been amazing. He’s got 22 goals already and I’d love to get that sort of return. He’s an out-and-out goal-scorer and he’s been an asset for the club.”
Griffiths has been on the books of Celtic since 2014 and has a contract until June 2021. The Scotland international is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and has been in superb form so far this season.
The 25-year-old former Wolverhampton Wanderers man has scored 22 goals already this campaign, and there are more to come.
Celtic are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership, the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Cup this season. For Ronny Deila’s side to achieve that feat, Griffiths will have to continue banging in the goals left, right and centre.
