The striker completed a move from Wolves last weekend.
It has been an impressive rise from the former Gunners youngster, who has managed 23 goals in 48 games for Wolves since joining them in January last year.
Now, Wenger has insisted his former starlet has all the qualities to be a success with Eddie Howe’s side.
“He has the qualities to integrate into a team like Bournemouth, whose game is based on movement, pace and quick football,” he told arsenal.com.
“I believe it’s a normal price for a player who wants to play in the Premier League as a striker, £10 million is not excessive.”
"He has scored goals in the lower leagues and the risk is not massive considering Bournemouth will take advantage of the extra money that will come in at the end of the season.”
Bournemouth will now be hoping that the striker can score them the goals they need to keep them in the Premier League.
Callum Wilson is still their top goalscorer with seven goal in the league, despite having only managed seven games before being ruled out of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.
They have struggled for a regular goalscorer without him, with Glenn Murray and Junior Stanislas the closest to Wilson with three apiece.
If Afobe can come in and get goals in the games remaining this season, and help them avoid relegation, Bournemouth will likely consider him a bargain.
