Tottenham transfer news: Vorm linked with exit, Berahino latest and potential Remy loan move

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

According to a report from the Daily Star Sunday Tottenham Hotspur still see Saido Berahino as their top striker target despite the England under-21 international falling out of favour at West Bromwich Albion.

Tottenham attempted to bring the 22-year-old to White Hart Lane in the summer but the Baggies held firm on that occasion.

However, the latest report claims Tottenham are not pursuing any other potential targets in that area of the field as they focus their efforts on bringing in Berahino.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy reportedly wants to include winger Andros Townsend in any potential deal, with the England international valued at £12million by his current club.

In other news, the Sun reports that Everton are considering Tottenham’s back-up goalkeeper Michel Vorm as a potential replacement for Tim Howard.

The American stopper has come in for some criticism this season and with Vorm very much playing second fiddle to Hugo Lloris at Spurs it is a move that would make sense.

That said Tottenham are unlikely to weaken their squad midway through the current campaign.

And finally, the Mirror claims Tottenham want Chelsea forward Loic Remy on loan to act as back-up for Harry Kane.

This contradicts the earlier claim from the Star and one would assume that is if they fail in any bid for Berahino this month.

But with claims West Brom will hold out for £25million the French international could be a sensible and more viable alternative…provided of course Chelsea are willing to significantly strengthen a rival for a top-four finish.
