After the Leeds boss recently compared himself to the legendary manager, his winger admits there were days he received a Fergie-like 'caning.'
And that's an interesting concept considering Evans' recent comparisons to Sir Alex Ferguson.
It was the Scot himself who compared his methods to Fergie, of course, claiming that several of his coaches have told him he reminds them of the legendary manager in his early 50s, as reported by the Daily Mail.
It's apt, then, that 27-year-old Leeds loanee Carayol - who scored on his Elland Road debut against Rotherham United in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon - has revealed details of Evans' hairdryer treatment.
Indeed, under the Scot at Crawley, the winger says he can't repeat the things his boss would tell him in the changing room - but insists it helped make him the man he is today.
Carayol is quoted as saying by the Star: "We’ve been friends since I played for him at Crawley at 18.
"It was my first taste of men’s football. I had days where he absolutely caned me in the changing room. I can’t tell you the things he says. But it’s made me the man I am today and I’m thankful."
Evans has been nothing but no nonsense since he arrived at Leeds. The question, however, is whether he can take United much further than where they are now.
Just keeping Leeds in mid table or top half could be hard enough for the Scot - even though that would represent an improvement on most of their recent head coaches.
