Report: Everton want Spurs backup Michel Vorm, Martinez also pursuing Jefferson Montero

Everton are reportedly plotting moves for a host of Premier League players.

According to The Sun, Everton are plotting moves for Tottenham's reserve goalkeeper Michel Vorm, as well as Swansea City winger Jefferson Montero.

The Toffees are somewhat underachieving this season, as despite impressive performances from young players such as John Stones, Ross Barkley, Gerard Deulofeu and Romelu Lukaku, Everton sit in 11th place in the Premier League table, nine points off the top four and ten points clear of the relegation zone.

Manager Roberto Martinez has come under pressure this season, and he may need to splash some cash this month if he is to turn things around at Goodison Park.

One position which has been concerning Everton fans is goalkeeper, with Tim Howard in poor form this season and Joel Robles little more than a backup goalkeeper at this stage.

The Sun subsequently report that Everton are looking at three Premier League goalkeepers; Tottenham's Michel Vorm, Chelsea's Asmir Begovic and Norwich's former Everton goalkeeper John Ruddy.

Dutchman Vorm has been a reserve at Tottenham ever since joining from Swansea City back in 2014, and at 32, he may want one more crack at regular Premier League football, especially having been so highly rated during his time at Swansea.

Meanwhile, Begovic had a run in Chelsea's team whilst Thibaut Courtois was out injured, but has also been used as cover since joining from Stoke City over the summer, and Ruddy - who joined Everton from Cambridge back in 2005 - has lost his place as Norwich goalkeeper to Declan Rudd, and could end up back at Goodison Park this month.

It's also suggested that Martinez wants a new winger in his ranks, and is targeting Swansea City's Jefferson Montero, who has fallen out of favour under new boss Alan Curtis.

The Ecuadorian wide man, 26, enjoyed a superb start to the campaign, terrorising defences with his blistering pace - but with Swansea seemingly heading in a different direction under Curtis, it may be smart of Everton to test their resolve and try to lure Montero to Merseyside.

Who do you think Everton should sign this month?
