According to Sky Sports, Trabzonspor striker Dame N'Doye is travelling to Wearside in order to undergo a medical with Sunderland.
The Black Cats lost 3-1 at Arsenal in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon, and manager Sam Allardyce will be hoping to add more new signings after bringing in Bayern Munich defender Jan Kirchhoff on an 18-month contract last week.
Despite having the likes of Jermain Defoe, Steven Fletcher, Fabio Borini and Ola Toivonen, Allardyce appears keen to bring in more attacking firepower, with one deal seemingly close.
Sky Sports report that Trabzonspor hitman Dame N'Doye is travelling over to Wearside today, in order to undergo a medical with Sunderland, with a loan deal until the end of the season in place.
N'Doye, 30, was prolific during spells with Copenhagen and Lokomotiv Moscow, but he will be best known to Premier League fans for his time playing with Hull City.
The Senegal international signed for Hull last January, and whilst he scored five goals in 15 games, he was sold to Trabzonspor after Hull's relegation to the Championship.
Despite flashing ability in the Premier League, N'Doye has so far struggled to make an impact with Trabzonspor, failing to score in his 12 league appearances for the Turkish club.
Now, N'Doye is heading back to England, with the report stating that a loan deal until the end of the season has been agreed, and the striker is allegedly poised to undergo a medical with the Black Cats.
With pace and power, N'Doye fits the bill of a classic Allardyce striker, but after his goals failed to keep Hull in the Premier League last season, Sunderland will be hoping that he can avoid relegation this time around, as his deal draws ever closer.
