Rangers fans react on Twitter to new signing Harry Forrester's Ibrox debut

Rangers hammered Cowdenbeath 5-1 at Ibrox this afternoon.

Rangers moved into the next round of the Scottish Cup after hammering Cowdenbeath 5-1 at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.

Lee Wallace got the ball rolling, slotting home from Kenny Miller's pass, before Barrie McKay's weaving run ended in the winger curling home an outstanding second.

Dean Brett pulled one back for Cowdenbeath with a delightful free kick from the edge of the box, before Martyn Waghorn hit three second half goals - two of them penalties - to hand Mark Warburton a convincing 5-1 victory.

The game saw superb performances from the likes of Wallace, McKay and Waghorn, but fans were also given a first glimpse of new signing Harry Forrester.

The 25-year-old winger or playmaker joined Rangers from the Doncaster Rovers at the start of the month, reuniting with Warburton having worked with the Gers boss at both Watford and Brentford.

He has just a six-month contract so needs to impress, and played around half an hour of Rangers' win over Cowdenbeath, having come on as a substitute for Gedion Zelalem.

After the final whistle, fans took to Twitter in order to assess Forrester's debut, with many stating that he showed flashes of his quality, and should be a major contributor for Rangers once he gets more comfortable and builds up his fitness.

Others weren't quite so convinced by his display, and want to see more than a brief second half cameo before tipping him to make a big impact.

Here are some of the reactions from Rangers fans on Twitter after Harry Forrester's substitute performance against Cowdenbeath.
