After watching their side draw 1-1 at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday, Aston Villa fans were treated to another reminder of a player they let go on Sunday afternoon.
There have been a few such examples, with Jordan Graham now thriving at Wolves, but the case of Marc Albrighton is by far the most high profile.
Indeed, Villa released the 26-year-old and he subsequently joined Leicester City. There, he has shone - and his ability was on show once again at White Hart Lane.
BBC televised Leicester's FA Cup clash in north London, meaning as many Villa supporters as possible could watch as Abrighton reminded them what they could have had.
One such supporter - former Aston Villa man Ian Taylor - took to Twitter with a bit of Albrighton-related sarcasm...
Marc Albrighton......I'm saying nothing....— Ian Taylor (@IanTaylor7) January 10, 2016
In response, Villa fans agreed with Taylor en masse. There is palpable disappointment that Albrighton was allowed to leave Villa Park and now flourish a Midlands rivals Leicester.
Whenever a club releases a player, it can always backfire - that's the risk. But, at Aston Villa, the wrong option just seems to be taken far too often.
Here's what Villa fans made of Taylor's tweet after watching Albrighton for Leicester...
