After a goalless first half, Jake Gray put the home team in the lead just past the hour mark. Jacob Butterfield restored parity for Derby in the 67th minute, and Bent scored the winner on 85 minutes.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Victoria Park, hosts Hartlepool had 42% of the possession, took seven shots of which just one was on target, and earned four corners.
Visitors Derby had 58% of the possession, took 11 shots of which six were on target, and earned seven corners.
Paul Clement’s side will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on Reading at the iPro Stadium in the Championship.
