Steve Evans says 'wonderful' Stuart Dallas and Mustapha Carayol compliment each other

Elland Road Revie Stand

The Leeds head coach has been discussing the Northern Irishman and his new team-mate.

Leeds United boss Steve Evans believes Stuart Dallas and Mustapha Carayol 'compliment each other,' according to BBC Football.

Speaking after United's 2-0 win over Rotherham in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon, the Scot heaped praise on both 27-year-old loanee Carayol and 'wonderful' winger Dallas.

And the Leeds head coach feels the two work well together based on Saturday's evidence, suggesting both Carayol and midfielder Liam Bridcutt have greatly improved the Whites' playing squad.

"Stuart Dallas and Carayol compliment each other," Evans told BBC Radio Leeds.

"Dallas is a wonderful player but I like the way Carayol can go either side. There's no doubt Carayol and Liam Bridcutt have added some quality to the group."

Leeds fans have certainly been impressed by Bridcutt so far, while their newest signing's debut goal won't have hurt his chances of success at Elland Road.

By praising Dallas, Evans is also showing a clear idea of which of his existing squad he values.

Perhaps the Northern Irishman and Carayol can finally solve Leeds' problems out wide. Will Buckley couldn't make the grade, while Jordan Botaka hasn't yet hit a solid run of form.

Carayol has hit the ground running and works well with Dallas, according to his manager. Can the pair provide some useful service for Chris Wood through the middle?
