Report: Everton and Norwich City interested in experienced goal-machine Oscar Cardozo

The Paraguayan forward is currently plying his trade in Turkey with Trabzonspor.

Reports in Italy are linking both Everton and Norwich City with a move for mercurial Paraguayan striker Oscar Cardozo.

Tutto Mercato Web is reporting that both Everton and Norwich are set to rival Lazio for the signature of the player.

Norwich are after extra strike power, with the futures of Kyle Lafferty and Lewis Grabban in doubt.

Everton on the other hand, who have been linked with Cardozo in the past, could do with extra back-up for Romelu Lukaku in their own attacking positions.

Cardozo has a potent record in front of goal in European football.

Since joining Benfica from Newell's Old Boys in 2007 he has scored goals for fun - including 38 in one season back in 2009-10.

All in all his European record reads in 198 goals in 346 games - which is certainly a good reason for Everton and Norwich to be keen.

However he is now 32-years-old and he was never the most mobile of strikers in his younger years. He has scored six goals in 13 appearances for current club Trabzonspor this season but it would be interesting to see how he would adapt to English football.
