According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic have been in discussions over a possible January deal for Sporting Lisbon winger Carlos Mane.
The Bhoys are expected to make signings this month as Ronny Deila bids to turn the club's fortunes around again, after an underwhelming campaign so far.
With some lacklustre attacking performances, such as the recent 1-0 defeat to Motherwell, Deila may look to bring in some quality for the final third - and a winger appears to be on his wishlist.
The Scottish Sun report that Celtic have been in discussions over a deal for Sporting Lisbon winger Carlos Mane, with the player's agent Cesare Marchetti claiming he would star in Scotland.
"We have had firm interest from across Europe but Carlos would totally light up the Scottish game," said Marchetti. "He’s exciting to watch and would become a fans’ favourite wherever he ends up. Discussions are ongoing with a number of clubs. He is in a good position with several offers to think about," he added.
The report states that Celtic are proposing a loan deal with an option to buy the speedy Portuguese wide man, who was once compared to his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo, as noted here by talkSPORT.
The 21-year-old hit nine goals for Sporting last season, but he has fallen out of favour under new boss Jorge Jesus, making just five starts in all competitions.
With blistering pace, Mane could add something different to the Celtic side, but it's clear that they face major competition for his signature this month.
