Ray Wilkins revealed on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (January 8) that he would have loved to see Celtic and Rangers play in the Premier League.
“For many, many years we have always wanted Rangers and Celtic to come into our league, haven’t we?” said the former Rangers midfielder.
“I have got to say, I would have loved to have seen them come into our league, but that’s never going to be the case.”
While the Bhoys are pretty much guaranteed of winning the Premiership title yet again, the Gers are likely to finish top of the Championship and gain automatic promotion to the Scottish top flight at the end of the season.
But how would Celtic and Rangers fare if they were to playing in the Barclays Premier League in England?
The duo would probably struggle, at least in the first season when they would have to adjust to English football.
If Rangers were to play in the English top flight right now, then they would be fighting relegation due to the squad they have at the moment.
As for Celtic, the Hoops would probably have to settle for a place in the bottom half of the table.
