Barry Ferguson has been singing the praises of Rangers youngster Jason Holt in The Daily Record.
Holt joined Rangers in the summer of 2015 after leaving Heart of Midlothian. The 22-year-old central midfielder has established himself as one of the best players in Mark Warburton’s side.
Former Rangers midfielder Ferguson has been hugely impressed with Holt and rates the former Scotland Under-21 international highly.
“Holt has been a revelation in the Rangers midfield and his ability to go beyond the strikers and get on the end of chances marks him out as someone special,” Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record.
“He’s still young at 22 and will get better,” added the former Scotland international. “How much better? Let’s say he’s got a chance to be a major player for Rangers for the next five to 10 years.”
Rangers are going strong at the moment and are on course to winning the Scottish Championship title.
Warburton’s side are currently at the top of the league table with 47 points from 49 matches, three points clear of second-placed Falkirk with a game in hand.
The Gers will take on Cowdenbeath at Ibrox in Glasgow in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on Sunday afternoon.
Rangers will return to Scottish Championship action next weekend when they take on Livingston at home.
