Portsmouth winger Kal Naismith has told The Daily Record that Rangers-bound Matt Crooks is like Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure.
Crooks is on the books of Accrington Stanley at the moment and is set to join Rangers at the end of the season.
Naismith, now on loan at Hartlepool United from Portsmouth, played with Crooks at Accrington and rates him highly.
The 23-year-old former Rangers winger has highlighted similarities between Crooks and City star Toure, who won the Champions League with Barcelona in the 2008-09 season.
“Crooksy is built like a swimmer,” Naismith told The Daily Record. “He almost reminds me of Yaya Toure because he’s so big and powerful yet laidback and does everything at his own pace.”
Rangers are at the top of the Scottish Championship table at the moment with 47 points from 19 matches. Mark Warburton’s side are three points clear of second-placed Falkirk and also have a game in hand.
The Gers are favourites to win the league title and gain automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership at the end of the season.
