Michael Owen expects this player to score in Watford v Newcastle

Watford will face Newcastle United in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Michael Owen has suggested on Betvictor.com that he expects Watford striker Odion Ighalo to score against Newcastle United today.

Watford will take on Premier League rivals Newcastle at Vicarage Road in the third round of the FA Cup in a few hours’ time.

“A tie I’m really looking forward to and I hope the Hornets start with Troy Deeney and Idion Ighalo up front,” former Newcastle striker Owen has written on Betvictor.com.

“The pair have been sensational so far this season with the latter likely to be too hot to handle for the Magpies’ defence.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Ighalo to score at anytime at 11/10.”

Ighalo has been in brilliant form for Watford so far this season and is one of the best players for the Hornets.

The 26-year-old striker has scored 14 goals and created 18 chances in 20 Premier League appearances so far this season.

The Nigeria international has a pass accuracy of 75% and a shot accuracy of 61%, and has won six headers, 27 dribbles and 15 tackles.

Watford are ninth in the Premier League table at the moment with 29 points from 20 matches. The Hornets will head into the game against Newcastle with confidence and will be confident of winning the FA Cup third-round tie.

Quique Sanchez Flores’s side will head into the encounter against the Magpies on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City at Vicarage Road in the Premier League.
