Mark Lawrenson predicts Wolves victory, West Ham react sarcastically on Twitter

Mark Lawrenson believes West Ham will lose 2-1 to Wolves.

Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Wolverhampton Wanderers will beat West Ham United 2-1 in the FA Cup this afternoon.

The FA Cup third round weekend is upon us, as Premier League and Championship teams enter the competition, whilst those further down the ladder are looking to cause an upset.

Exeter City came close to beating Liverpool on Friday before finishing up with a 2-2 draw, and Championship outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers will be hoping to beat West Ham at Upton Park this afternoon.

Wolves make the trip South having recently hit a fine run of form, winning their last three games over Christmas, having only won one of their previous seven matches.

Meanwhile, West Ham's situation is somewhat similar, having gone eight without a victory themselves before beating Southampton and Liverpool over the New Year period.

Slaven Bilic's men are full of confidence again, but pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Wolves will spring a surprise and run out winners.

"I have a feeling that West Ham might slip up against Wolves, who were struggling until recently but have won three in a row since Christmas," said Lawrenson.

Now, it's been a long-running joke that Lawrenson regularly tips West Ham to get beat - possibly a throwback to when the Hammers beat his beloved Preston side 1-0 in the 2005 Championship play-off final to reach the Premier League - and the Hammers Twitter account responded sarcastically to Lawrenson's latest prediction.
