The Bayern Munich star has recently been linked with a move to Anfield.

Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze has ruled out a move to Liverpool in the January transfer window, according to TZ.

The Germany international was this week linked with a move to Anfield, with Bild claiming Klopp is keen to reunite with his former star.

The duo worked together at Borussia Dortmund, with Gotze arguably enjoying his best years under the German before joining Bayern in 2013.

Things have been harder for him at the Allianz, with him struggling to make the same impact amongst Bayern’s star-studded squad.

Any potential move to Liverpool will have to wait until the summer though, with Gotze ruling out a move in the January transfer window.

"I can rule out a move to Liverpool this winter. I don't know where the rumours about Klopp and me are coming from,” he told TZ.

"I have not heard anything. You should ask Klopp if he wants me at Liverpool. If he wants me, he should approach me.”

The good news for Liverpool is that Gotze has not entirely ruled out a move to the club at any point.

They could be in a strong position to try and secure him come the summer as well, with his current contract set to expire in June 2017 and as yet no talks of a renewal have emerged.

Whether though, the Reds are willing to pay his reported £37million asking price is yet to be seen, with their big money purchases in recent seasons having mostly been poor ones.
