Liverpool should offer Roberto Firmino to get their hands on Mario Gotze

The Bayern Munich playmaker was linked earlier today.

Yesterday morning it was reported by Bild in Germany that Liverpool were keen on signing Mario Gotze from Bayern Munich.

The German international, who scored the winning goal in the World Cup final for Germany in 2014, is a former Klopp protege at Borussia Dortmund who is not currently getting the game time he would like with the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

With that in mind, a deal certainly made sense.

Bild then carried quotes from Bayern director Matthias Sammer, who made it clear that the club had no intention of selling the player.

But could Liverpool have an ace up their sleeves in this transfer approach?

Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian arrived at Liverpool from Hoffenheim in a deal reported by Sky Sports to be in the region of £21.3 million.

He has had fleeting moments of brilliance at Liverpool but overall has not been consistent enough in English football.

In the summer Bayern were also linked with Firmino, who has already proven himself in German football.

If Klopp was to offer up the Brazilian in any potential Gotze deal you have to feel that Bayern might just consider granting Gotze a reunion with Klopp at Liverpool.
